Here locally in Vancouver the TD International Jazz Festival is taking place this weekend right in the heart of downtown Vancouver at the Georgia st. and Robson st. sqaure. The noteworthy Macy Gray will be performing this Thursday, July 28th at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.
Spend Canada day at Canada Place Western Canada’s premier Canada Day event for over 30 years, bringing communities together to share our special bond of living in one of the greatest countries in the world. Event highlights include main stage headliner performance by JoJo Mason, fireworks show, food trucks, Canadian Forces Zone, Citizenship Ceremony and the Coast Capital Savings Youth Zone,
Make sure you catch the fireworks and watch as the sky lights up in celebration of our nation’s birthday! The two fireworks barges are located in Coal Harbour, and Dundarave in West Vancouver. Best viewing locations include:
- Fireworks Viewing Zone at Canada Place
- Harbour Green Park
- Coal Harbour
- Stanley Park
- West Vancouver Seawall
IN CALGARY two of the city’s biggest events to celebrate Canada day are….
The East Village Street fair. The community of East Village will be hosting a street fair for all ages with food trucks, live music and a children’s area. The vendors, food trucks and children’s area open at 10 a.m. Live music by Los Majes and Rick Poltaruk will be starting at 11 a.m.
Secondly, we have the Canada Day Block Party. The fifth annual Canada Day block party hosted by MarketSpot will include a vendor’s market, live music, beer gardens and food trucks at the Max Bell Centre. Later in the evening there will be fireworks beginning at 10 pm.
