School strikers are calling on everyone: young people, parents, workers, and all concerned citizens to join massive climate strikes and a week of actions starting on September 20.
People all over the world will use their power to stop “business as usual” in the face of the climate emergency.
In support of this initiative, all ticketing fees from events that are hosted on EventChain on September 20th 2019, will be donated to 350.org. This means that all fundraising events or regular events have the opportunity to give that little extra back.
Host a party, a film screening or a corporate Mix & Mingle. There are no events too big or too small. We will donate up to $500CAD in net ticketing fees from each event.
Bringing people together is at the heart of EventChain. We want to support events that give back, especially events that raise awareness for our growing climate crisis. It's not enough to sit back and let the next generation try to fix issues that threaten our planet. Now is the time. Every little bit counts.
350.org was founded in 2008 by a group of university friends in the United States along with author Bill McKibben, who wrote one of the first books on global warming for the general public, with the goal of building a global climate movement. 350 was named after 350 parts per million — the safe concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
Our first actions were global days of action that linked activists and organizations around the world, including the International Day of Climate Action in 2009, the Global Work Party in 2010, Moving Planet in 2011. 350 quickly became a planet-wide collaboration of organizers, community groups and regular people fighting for the future.
